Using gifts to ask bridesmaids to be a part of your wedding is a fun and sentimental way to get the (bridal) party started! As a person who has been in many weddings, I can tell you that being a bridesmaid is NOT cheap. As a (former) bride, I understand wanting to skimp on bridal party gifts and save money for bigger ticket items (I mean, their your friends- you’ll do the same for them!...) but I truly believe it is important to ‘invest’ in your bridal party all through out the wedding planning. Just think how much money they will happily be spending to make you feel special during this time in your life. The multiple showers they’ll attend in honor of you, the gifts they’ll buy you, the bachelorette party they’ll plan/pay for, the bridesmaid dress, shoes, jewelry, hair + makeup they’ll pay for. It’s A LOT to ask of anyone, so make sure you are budgeting for bridal party gifts that they’ll love, not toss once your wedding is over.
My advice is to get creative with your gifts and don’t make it all about you. I know, it’s your wedding but I promise, they aren’t going to want stuff ‘branded’ by your wedding theme for years to come and they probably already have enough ‘bride tribe’ gear that you don’t need to add anymore to the collection. While that kind of stuff is *cute for Instagram pics* it’s all still really about *you*. Bridal party gifts are a chance for you to make it about them and show your thanks for being involved.
The gifts don’t all have to be the same and can quite literally have nothing to do with the wedding. If you feel the need to tie in the wedding somehow, try to in a more sublet way like using your wedding colors. You can do one more expensive gift or create a gift basket or box with a bunch of smaller things. Maybe their favorite flowers, bottle of wine, candy etc. Whatever you decide, make the gift about them, not you.
