5 Wedding Memorial Ideas to Honor Loved Ones

Weddings are wonderful, uplifting events full of beauty and love, and we can't help but gush over the couples that choose to honor loved ones who couldn't be there to celebrate with them.

Since we're in the business of celebrating all of life's events, we wanted to share some of our favorite wedding memorial ideas to help bring honor and meaning to your wedding day.

Wedding Memorial Ideas

1. Something borrowed for the bride

Whether it's a piece of your grandmother's wedding gown, your mother's earrings, or a bouquet photo charm of your loved ones, we love the idea of carrying your memories of those you love most with you down the aisle.

2. Honorary seating

Leaving a chair open for the loved ones you wish to honor during your wedding helps some couples feel as though they're right there celebrating too. Place a framed photo or name card on a char at the ceremony or reception to honor their memory.

3. Photographic Tribute

Have your wedding photographer capture you and/or your spouse with a portrait of your loved one. We think this is a lovely photo to include in your wedding photo album.

4. Light a Candle

Lighting a candle at the wedding ceremony is a lovely way to pay tribute to lost loved ones. You can also have candles burning at the reception with a sign to let guests know the candle is in honor of someone special to the couple.

5. Memory Table

Having a table dedicated to loved ones is a great way to honor relationships cherished by the couple. Dedicate an entire table to photographs of lost loved ones or place a few at the guest book table or escort card table so guests who may have also known the deceased you are celebrating can be sure to view as well.
