If you know me, you know I don’t leave the house without a journal in tow on a daily basis, so of course when we skip town, it is one of the first things I pack. I love taking pictures to capture our adventures, but it’s not quite the same as using a travel journal to record those memories, and the things, and stories that an image can’t quite capture. (You can read more about travel journal tips in this post.)

Last weekend, was the first weekend it started to finally feel like fall in the south, so we decided to head north to one of our favorite southern cities, Asheville, NC. If you have never been, you need to put this city on your list. I highly suggest going in the fall season, as the mountains are so pretty then and the weather is perfect. I also suggest, booking your plans in advance.

…Even if you’re camping. We camped, and planned poorly (didn’t reserve a site in advance) so we had to take what was available (and there wasn’t many options at that point). Nonetheless, we had an amazing time in Asheville and I thought I would share with you some of the places my journal and I went!
