A Wedding Bullet Journal is a fun and stress relieving way to plan your wedding.  Some brides like using spreadsheets to keep organized while planning, but if that sounds a bit too ridged for you, try a bullet journal!

We have lots of bullet journal options for you to use as a wedding bullet journal. I am using this Refillable Traveler’s Notebook   as it is my go-to for all of my bullet journaling, but this classic White Blank Moleskine Notebook would work great for wedding planing too. If you’re less arts-and-craftsy but still want a wedding journal, this Moleskine Wedding Planner Journal already has the perfectly neat spreads all laid out for you.

Wedding Bullet Journal Cover Page

To get your bullet journal started, use the first page to design a cover. If you’ve already decided on a theme and/or colors, incorporate this into the cover design, if not, keep it simple for now and you can add to it later. I did a simple ‘brush stroke’ with a color I was sure we’d use in the wedding, but otherwise kept it clean and simple. 

Wedding Countdown Page

After the cover page, the next spread I created was the countdown page. Some brides will start at a year count down, but in my opinion, there isn’t much going on in the planing stages at 12 months out… other than planing on saving all your money for the next year because you’re about to spend a lot of it planning a wedding. There are some things you could and should do before 6 months. Like, if you want a popular venue, or photographer you will want to secure those asap, otherwise, the thick of your countdown for wedding planning is going to ramp up around 6 months.

Wedding Budget Page

Putting together a budget for your wedding can be one of the most stressful parts. I honestly was wayyyy off the mark with our budget when I first started planning. Not because I wasn’t being realistic, but simply because I had no clue how much all of the little parts of a wedding cost and how quickly it can add up. A budget is 1000% necessary. I choose to make mine into a visual diagram to really see where I am allocating the bulk of our wedding money. It really put things into perspective for me. Before you layout what you think your budget should look like, do some research, call and get some quotes and then sit down with a glass (or bottle) of wine, a calculator and start crunching those numbers. If you’re like me, spending time to make a budget ‘pretty’ makes dealing with the finical realities of planing a wedding a little bit better. *WHY DO VENUES CHARGE SO MUCH?!?!

Vendor + Bridal Party Page

I suggest creating a vendor contact reference page in your bullet journal. Anytime you add a new vendor, go ahead and add it to your list. It can also be helpful to do the same with your bridal party too!

Mood Board Spread

I was really struggling with what I wanted my wedding to ‘look’ like. I am a maximalist by nature, meaning I like things, all the things and usually at once. Trying to choose ‘one theme’ or color pallet was near impossible. I used clippings from wedding magazines, doodles, scraps and other nick-nacks that inspired me and evoked the feeling I wanted for the day, to create a mood board spread. On the page next to it, I sketched out some of my favorite types of flowers and colors. You may learn that the flowers you want aren’t in season for your wedding date, but having an idea of what ‘look’ and colors you’re going for will help your florist find a good alternative if need be.

One of the most fun parts of wedding planning is registering for gifts and planning the reception (aka: PARTY) afterwards. Some couples will go in store to register and some will just do it online, either way, I know I kept thinking of things to register for and keeping it all in one spot will help you remember what you want. I know it sounds crazy but a gal can get a little out of hand shopping for things she doesn’t have to pay for. You don’t want to end up with a bunch a stuff that you don’t need or that doesn’t go together and then forget about the stuff that you really could use.

Creating a guest list can be another one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning. Each person you invite usually comes with a hefty price tag, so most couples have todo a lot of ‘trimming’ to their list. I promise you (unless you have an un-limited budget) the guest list will be revised more than once. Start with a his and hers (or her’s and her’s w/e floats your boat) list and go from there. (You may need a few pages for this).

The last official spread in my wedding bullet journal is the honeymoon page. I used this to jot down ideas, actives and restaurants to-go to while on our honeymoon. This spread is good for writing down any reservations you make while planning. I know for us, once in the thick of wedding planning, the honeymoon planning got put on the back burner. We had it booked, but waited until more of the wedding was planned and paid for before we booked too many things for the honeymoon.

In the back of my wedding bullet journal, I used the extra pages to write my wedding vows. For months, if I thought of something sweet, that I could possibly add into my vows, be it from my own mind, a quote or a lyric from a song, I wrote it down. When the time came to sit down and write my wedding vows, it was much easier for me to do with little thought nuggets of sweetness to prompt me.
