One of our favorite emails to receive are photo album proposal stories from our customers. We all love crowding around Emily’s desk to see the photos and read the story of how one of our customers used one of our handmade photo albums to propose to the love of their life!
We couldn’t help but giggle and swoon over Ed’s sweet and unique retelling of his photo album proposal to Sabrina with our Leather Rustic Photo Album in oiled leather.

I met Sabrina in, of all places… dodgeball! Like they say in the movie, if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball, but you can’t dodge love. Well, not quite, but you get the point.
Anyway, I met Sabrina when we were on the same dodgeball team together. I asked her out and we went out a bunch of times. In fact, I had to take her out four times before she would even let me pay for a date or kiss her goodnight.
So fast forward a year. I knew I wanted to propose. I knew she was the one. But where? And how? It was February and we live in Chicago. So I got the idea to take her on a surprise trip to a cabin in northern Michigan. I planned out a day of snowshoeing, but needed something special to help me actually pop the question.
That’s where Blue Sky Papers came in. I got the idea that I wanted to propose by giving her a blank photo album. The idea was that we would spend our life together filling in the album. I literally spent hours upon hours looking online to find the perfect album. I came across Blue Sky Papers and knew it was exactly what I was looking for.
I ended up getting the 12 x 12 Leather Rustic Album. I bought some black photo corners… the kind they used to put photos in photo albums back in the day. I put four blank corners on the first page for an empty first photo.
When I gave Sabrina the gift, I told her that I loved her and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I imagined that we would spend our lives filling in the photo album. Then I got down on one knee and popped the question, [and] she said yes!
