Modern Calligraphy for Your Wedding – A List of Our Favorite Calligraphers

Modern calligraphy for your wedding is a trend that isn’t going away and will continue to evolve over time.

Modern calligraphy serves as a functional/informational written text, but also includes decorative scripts that can hardly be legible at first glance. Calligraphy is a handwritten art form that has been around for centuries, with many different styles and techniques that have derived over time. As technologies have advanced, you would think calligraphy would be a dying art form. However, seemingly- the opposite has occurred.

With the new technologies, and easy access to resources, modern calligraphy and hand lettering has made a huge comeback. With a quick internet search, you can teach yourself the basics of calligraphy, or easily find a calligrapher for hire.

While calligraphy is a fun and relaxing hobby to take up, calligraphy is most popular and commonly seen in the design of wedding invitations and announcements. But is also used to create other signage through out a wedding, such as place cards, table numbers, photo props, and hand written wedding vows.

We recommend to all of our brides purchasing a Vow Book from us, to take it one step further and hire a calligrapher to write out their vows. Often, you can work with a calligrapher to design your invites, vows and any signage needed for your wedding.

We thought it would be helpful to share a list of the calligraphers we have worked with and can recommend their beautiful work. As well as a few other calligrapher artists that we admire, and calligraphy styles we see emerging time and time again.

This list of modern wedding calligraphers will be updated over time, but we would love to hear from you, and have you share your favorite calligrapher with us (and our readers) in the comment section.
