Halloween Party Photo Booth Guest Book

Halloween Party Photo Booth Guest Book

Planning to host a Halloween Party this year? Consider setting up a photo booth to capture all the crazy and creative costumes your guests show up wearing! We LOVE the idea of having a Halloween Party Photo Booth Guest Book for guests to sign, and for you to remember all the awesome effort your guests put into their costumes.

Halloween Party Photo Booth Guest Book Table by Blue Sky Papers

Fall is almost here, and word around the Blue Sky Papers office is that we’re ready to bring out the cardigans and scarves. It’s still sweltering outside in the good ol’ south, so we thought we’d inspire ourselves and our readers with a little Halloween party inspiration along with some great advice to get fun and silly Photo Booth photos.

Going the black, white and silver route made it easy to give off a more grown-up feel. This color scheme would be great for a haunted dinner party as well. We did, however, put in a few burlap and chalk elements to bring everything to a more a casual level.

Since Shakespeare’s three witches and their infamous incantation, “Double Double, Toil and Trouble” were the inspiration, we wanted to keep the witch theme going by setting up a photo booth guest book table complete with ominous quill pens, potion bottles, and a little sign advertising a tasty (or maybe not?) witches brew.

For our photo booth guest book, we did a simple guest book in black satin and embossed a little wit and spookiness on the cover. Carolin, our production manager, even staggered the lettering to give it a little extra quirk.

We also displayed a selection of black and white feather quill pens to give a little softened elegance to the otherwise harsh and at times, gaudy, effect Halloween party decorations can have on an event.

Back Drop and Props: Having a photobooth at your Halloween costume party can actually help you cut costs. For this DIY photobooth, we didn’t need to buy props because guests came with costumes and accessories. For the backdrop, we picked up a black and white damask shower curtain from Target, which made the backdrop easy to hang.

Camera Options: We set up a DSLR and off camera lighting, but you don’t have to get that fancy, especially if you don’t want to invest in lights, camera remotes, or an on-site printer. Our customers are actually huge fans of FujiFilm’s Instax camera line as they effortlessly provide instant gratification.

Tip: Make sure to tell guests to have their photo taken twice. One photo for the guestbook, and one for them to take home as a party favor.

Have guests leave messages next to their photos

Guests really love leaving messages when there’s fun pens and silly photos to fill the pages. For awesome photos…

  • jump in the photos
  • photo bomb one another
  • if in charge of taking photos, take a few when guests aren’t ready
  • give short count downs to make guests scurry to achieve the best pose possible

Mischief Managed - Harry Potter's Cho Chang, Cedric Diggory, and Luna Lovegood made an appearance at the Halloween Party Photo Booth

We hope our photo booth guest book table gave you plenty of Halloween party ideas for the Fall. Let us know what kind of party you end up hosting, and if you’ll want a matching blank guestbook to go with it!

*note – Target no longer sells the damask shower curtain pictured in our photobooth, but they do have the Sweet Jojo Designs Isabella Shower Curtain here.
