1. Mindfulness.

Journaling daily is a great way for you to practice mindfulness.

In a day in age where our mind is constantly going and engaged by something (usually something digital) taking the time to slow down and reflect the old fashion way will help you bring your wandering mind to a slow conscience pace where you are truly present in the moment.

This will allow you to pay attention to your thoughts actively, rather than passively. Enabling you to be more intentional in your day-to-day life.

2. Goal Setting.

The practice of writing down your goals, refining them and periodically referring to them is a wonderful habit to form. It will help your brain  subconsciously stay focused on the bigger picture/goal that you are working towards.

Writing down your goals will help you map them out, set a plan and actionable steps…which means your more likely to actually achieve them.

5. Brainstorming = Sparking new ideas.

Daily journaling/brain storming is a great way to work out your ideas, thoughts and plans, in the present and for the future.

Carrying a journal with you allows you to record those little sparks of inspiration that you get in the mundane of everyday life. And even if you don’t carry a journal with you, taking the time to reflect on your thoughts each day will trigger those moments of inspiration in your mind when thinking of what to write.

This is a great practice for many reasons, but wonderful for when you are stuck on an idea or project. You can look back on previous thoughts, ideas and doodles and find that you may already have the solution you need! Or at least something that can spark that idea.
