The Best Christmas Gift of All Time and Last Minute Christmas Shopping in Atlanta

The Best Christmas Gift of All Time and Last Minute Christmas Shopping in Atlanta

The Best Christmas Gift of All Time is getting to spend time with the ones you love most. So…put a bow on your head and lay under the tree! hehe Just kidding!

Instead though, you can try one (or all) of these holiday activities (listed below) with your family this Christmas. And if the gift of fun memories won’t suffice as a real Christmas gift, we have also rounded up 5 Atlanta shops where you can still shop for Last Minute Christmas Gifts anyone would love (even some Blue Sky Papers products that you don’t have time to order anymore).

Fun + Free Christmas Activities for the Whole Family :

Santa Tracker

  1. Santa Tracker + Treats : Santa Claus is coming to town (as you know) so while your baking cookies prepping for his arrival you can track his route. But don’t forget about the reindeer and Santa’s little helpers! Use this recipe for reindeer treats and this cute little doughnut recipe for Santa’s elves.

2 . Christmas Mad Libs : Who doesn’t love this comical game?! It is age appropriate for nearly anyone (who knows nouns, pronouns, verbs, etc.) and a great game to play with the family. If you don’t have time to purchase the official Mad Libs, we suggest checking out Pinterest for tons of free downloads with themes ranging for kid friendly to adults only!
3. Minute to Win It games : While trying to come up with new unique traditions to start with my family, I stumbled upon a trend called “Minute to Win It” games and they look SO FUN! The games seem pretty self explanatory and you have one minute to play/win. You can make up your own games, use these from this site, or hop over to Pinterest for even more ideas. (I think my favorite would have to be the reindeer Antlers game). Too funny!

4. Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt : Hop in the car with your honey (and fam) and go on an old fashion scavenger hunt. You can create your own list of things to hunt for or (once again) head to Pinterest to search through 100’s of free downloads for this. We really like this one from The Dating Divas.

5. D.I.Y. Your Own Christmas Sweater and take a Picture for Next Year’s Holiday Card : The ugly Christmas sweater is such a trend, so much so that there is a website where you can create your own design to be knitted into a one of a kind Christmas sweater original! Pretty cool, but since there isn’t enough time left to order one, you can always DIY it. Get inspired by these Ugly Christmas Sweater over on (you guessed it) Pinterest! (Pic above of my family and I and our ironed own designs a few years back).

And for those of you last minute gift shoppers (in Atlanta) here is a round up of 5 places to hit up for thoughtful gifts that definitely wont seem like last minute purchases.

1. Paris on Ponce : Paris on Ponce is such an eclectic little gem of a shop in the heart of Atlanta. It is located across the street from the late Murder Kroger (RIP) with a giant Eiffel tower out front. You kind of can’t miss it. This is a great place to shop for gifts for someone who loves vintage, antiques, quirky finds, and handmade goods from local creatives (like us!) Holiday hours : regular hours until Christmas Eve- for a 1/2 day, 12/25 closed  link to site :

2. Coco and Mischa : This maybe our new favorite brick and mortar shop in Atlanta. Located just outside of downtown Atlanta in the charming neighborhood of Decatur (where its greater!) you will find locally and regionally sourced products for the trendiest folks in your life. Gifts from here are sure NOT to disappoint and you can feel good about ’shopping small’ and supporting the makers!  link to website :  Holiday hours : 12/22- opened till midnight, 12/23-11-8pm, 12/24-TBT, closed 12/25-27

3.  Ponce City Market : PCM is a hodge-podge of shops where you can eat, drink, shop and be Merry! But if you’re still in need for thoughtful last minute gifts for EVERYONE in your life, this could be your one-stop-shop saving grace. I would hate to compare it to a mall, so think high end, open-air-market where you can find a variety of shops for a variety of folks in your life.  link to site + full list of shops :  holiday hours : N/A

4. The Merchant :  Has been one of our go to gift shops in Atlanta since 2013 with two locations, one on the west-side off Howell Mill and one more centrally located in the city in Inman Park at Krog Street Market. This cute little shop carries collections ranging from greeting cards and stationery to books, bedding, candles, and truly one of a kind vintage finds. Holiday hours : N/A

5. Young Blood :  If your shopping for someone who loves being surrounded by beautiful, handcrafted, one of a kinds goods- then this is your shop! You will find locally made products as well as ethically sourced products from all around the world. Holiday hours : N/A
