The Atlanta Hot Air Balloon Festival was this past weekend at Piedmont park and we could not resist checking it out. I don’t know about where you live, but here in the Atlanta (GA) area there are multiple hot air balloon festivals through out the year. This one is dubbed The Balloon Glow Hot Air Balloon Festival .
This year’s event has already passed but you can like their facebook page to follow along for the next one. I also suggest looking up the hot air balloon festivals at Callaway Gardens and Kennesaw State University, as I know they both host hot air balloon festivals, too. Even if you’re like myself and scared of heights and would NEVER step foot in one of these things, it’s still fun to go to, to see others enjoying the ride and of course, to take cute instagram pictures.
I usually don’t leave the house without bringing some sort of journal and pens/markers combo with me. There will be something that I want to write down, doodle, etc. I typically like big sketchbooks to draw and work out ideas in, but for traveling and to throw in my bag daily, the soft leather journal mini sketchbook is my go to.
It’s small 4×6″ size literally fits in every bag I own, as it is just a bit bigger than an i-phone is now in days. It also meets my other requirement of having blank, white, non-lined pages. For some odd reason they actually make journals with lines on the pages, which totally gets in the way of my doodling (hehe).
I was so happy that I had my journal and markers along for the hot air balloon festival. I hadn’t planned on making this little video to share with you all but once I started doodling, I thought it would be fun to!
Now tell me, would you go on a hot air balloon ride?!
