Children writing letters to Santa is one of the most charming and sweetest things to witness during the holiday season. We not only have the cutest little Santa Letterhead printable for you to download for free, but we’re giving away a Letters to Santa guest book at the bottom of this post!
The team at Blue Sky Papers not only remembers writing letters to Santa Claus at a young age, but now look forward to what sort of pretty little letters and drawings our own children will be dreaming up this year.
We love letters to Santa because it not only allows children to participate in the joy and mystery of writing to one of their most beloved and fantastic figures, but the act of writing letters helps promote literacy and teaches children the value of correspondence, especially when they receive a letter from Santa.
We thought our post-bound keepsake book would be the perfect way to preserve these letters and drawings.
How to Use a Letters to Santa Guest Book
1. Save copies of the letters your children send to Santa Claus during the Christmas season.
Do you mail their letters? Scan a copy of the letter before putting it in the mail, or if you act as Postal Worker to the North Pole, keep them safe and tucked away as you normally do. Make sure you date the letters.
2. On Christmas Eve, introduce the Santa Guest Book to your children.
The book serves as a way for Santa to leave a message to your children when he stops by to take a rest from delivering gifts to sample some of your Christmas cookies and milk. You can also have your children draw some pictures or write additional messages which can be left out with the book. When they go to bed, pen a letter from Santa Claus.
This letter could be in addition to any letters they may have already received from Santa, or as a response to a letter they mailed earlier.
Remember to add the dates, and leave it in the book beside the empty cookie plate and glass of milk. Make sure you take away any letters or drawings your children decided to leave for Santa on Christmas Eve, and store them with the rest of the letters.
3. What to do when Children stop believing.
It’s a bittersweet day when a child outgrows Santa Claus. They may even pretend just for you, but you all know the secret’s out. When they’re no longer writing to Santa, you can use the “Santa Guest Book” as a keepsake album. Take out all the letters to Santa that you’ve stored throughout the years, and place them in the book along with the corresponding letters from Santa.
